RCI Rewards

RCI (previously known as Resort Condominiums International) is a global leader in timeshares and timeshare exchanges, with over 6,000 properties in over 110 countries around the world. RCI is a part of the Wyndham family of brands and prides itself on offering excellent customer service and providing its members with an unparalleled selection in the timeshare exchange market.

What is a Timeshare Exchange?

A timeshare exchange is a process where multiple timeshare owners pool their timeshare properties together and exchange stays at other properties.

Timeshare exchanges work by charging a yearly fee for owners to join. Once they become members, a timeshare owner can deposit their weeks – or points – in their timeshare into the exchange program. Users then have the opportunity to browse thousands of available properties to find a timeshare at which they would like to stay. Perhaps, for example, a timeshare owner has a property in Aruba but would prefer to visit the mountains this year. They can opt to select a timeshare property in the Rockies instead of the white sands of the Caribbean.

Timeshare Fees

Just because a member has two weeks in their timeshare does not mean that their weeks have the same monetary value as everyone else’s two weeks. The value of a member’s points or weeks will vary based on the quality of their timeshare property, the location of the property, the season where they have their weeks or points, and so forth.

When exchanging a timeshare, it is common for users to pay an exchange fee of up to $200 to compensate for the discrepancy in the property, as well as for the costs associated with any administrative tasks undertaken by the exchange (such as RCI).

The RCI Rewards Program

How to Earn Rewards

Earning points with the RCI Rewards program requires their members to own the RCI Elite Rewards Mastercard from Barclays.  Cardmembers earn five points per dollar spent on all purchases with RCI (including fees), two points per dollar spent on flights, hotels, and car rentals booked through BarclaysUS.com, and a single point for all other dollars spent on the card.

How to Redeem Rewards

Redeeming points with RCI is almost as straightforward as earning them. Members can redeem their points for the following:

  • RCI Credits: Points are redeemable for members credits, exchange fees, and membership renewals.
  • Travel: Points are also applicable to flights, car rentals, and hotels booked through Barclays.
  • Cash Back: Points can also be used for cashback to help pay for RCI fees.
